Design
Functions identified in
the Design phase of installation are focused on the Customer’s process to
design and engineer (detail) the requirements for a specific deployment of
technology in a specified time frame. Some of the specific functional
skills here include the following:
|
|
Detailed
Engineering Design –
Specific skill to develop the overall engineering plan and job
specification, with substantial detail, that outlines the technology being
deployed and how, when, and where that technology integrates into the
Customer’s existing network
|
|
Site
Engineering Requirements –
Required skill set to define the specifics of the implementation from
Customer Records with regard to power, location, cabling details, points
of termination, etc. Also develop the specific listing (Bill of
Materials – BOM) of major material items to be implemented
|
|
Work Prints /
Record Generation -
Working knowledge of Customer’s record keeping system(s) used for the
creation of all work prints associated with the deployment as well as the
updating of specific assignment records.
|
|
Method of
Procedure – Skills
necessary to develop the preliminary Method of Procedure (MOP) that
outlines the step-by-step manner in which the implementation will be
undertaken.
|
|
Engineering
Site Survey - This is the
skill necessary to complete a field review of the Customer’s
implementation site(s) to determine if the Engineering plan and job
specification, developed from Customer Records, can be implemented. Also
involved is the determination of the intermediate and minor installation
materials required to complete this implementation
