Functions identified in the Planning phases of the Network model are focused on the Customer’s up front technology planning work that leads to a decision to deploy a specific technology.  Some of the specific functional skills here include the following:

Network Architecture Planning – Particularly as it relates to the integration of new technology into an existing telecommunications network or the evolution of a customer’s network toward newer technologies.

Network Capacity Planning – Specific skills to assist the customer in the planning of their network with regards to capacity to carry the desired traffic within the required level of service parameters.
